Seasonal Switch Over
Managing Seasonal Clutter
Have you ever noticed how your doorways and closets seem to collect clutter during specific times of the year? The influx of boots, winter jackets, snow pants, splash pants, mitts, hats, and shoes can be overwhelming. Could it be the change of seasons? Perhaps it's spring or fall? We're often asked how to keep the front entrance and closet free from clutter. Truthfully, this is my least favourite time of year when the entryway gets "clogged" up.
A cluttered home can negatively affect your mood, and I personally love returning to an organized space. If you feel the same way, here are some tips to help you create a clutter-free environment. Here are some helpful tips on how to take back your space:
Start by decluttering – get rid of items that are no longer useful or needed. This could include snow pants that won't be used until next winter or that no longer fit.
Consider organizing items based on the time of year. For example, you may only need lighter winter hats and smaller mitts in the spring instead of five pairs of mitts and three heavy hats.
Using baskets and bins to store items that are out of season is a great way to reduce clutter. You can label them and store them in the top of a closet, swapping them out as the seasons change. This method significantly reduces clutter and makes it easier to switch between seasons.
Keep entryways free from excess items and store only what you use regularly. Consider finding a new home for items like suits or pool gear.
By implementing these simple tips, you can create a more inviting, clutter-free environment that is sure to boost your mood.Get Help Simplifying Your Life: Less Clutter, More KALM
